The defeat of Milan at the end of the year

MILAN, AC Milan failed to end 2010 with the good result. They were defeated 0-1 (0-0) by AS Roma at the weekend of the 17th Serie A Italian League at the San Siro.

Despite losing, teams nicknamed the Rossoneri were still in power at the top of ranks with the 36 points.Yet, failure to reach three points that make them are now just three points ahead over nearest competitors.

Milan now began to being chased by Juventus and Lazio. They are now in the second and third positions with the 33 points. A risky situation for the Rossoneri within effort to become campione d'inverno.

"It was really embarrassing, particularly We were controls game," said Massimiliano Allegri.
Played at the San Siro, Milan is more dominating. Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost breaking into Rome in the first half, but still blocked by Roma's goalkeeper Doni.

What makes Allegri getting upset,because made poor results for Milan's home record games against its rivals in Serie A. Earlier, Milan had lost to Juventus. 
In addition defeated, Milan also suffered losses because of injuries that befall Andrea Pirlo.  
He had to be replaced in the 25th minute due to a thigh muscle injury.  Probably he will be out during the more than a month.

Ibrahimovic received a yellow card in the last game kept him out in the next game in Serie A when face against Cagliari on 6th January.

"Unfortunately, at the end of this year we're lost, but we could learn from these results. It is true that we were lose points at home but overall we still be happy because we were still leads the standings," Allegri said.

Allegri relieved to meet Spurs

Massimilliano Allegri quite relieved because AC Milan will only meet Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16 league champions. 
Allegri assumed that the Spurs are not as "dangerous" as other clubs in the knock-out round. Spurs assessed more easily than some other big teams a potentially to be the opposite of Milan.

Finished as runner-up group G, Milan had a chance to meet with the several big teams like Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United or Bayern Munich. But from the draw, Rossonerri "only" will face against the Spurs.

"I am pleased with the this drawing. We will go to London and will always be fun to play against England team.They are a good team, strong in attack but looking at statistics, they have a little problem in defense." Allegri said as quoted by Football-Italy.

It is undeniable that the Spurs is an uderdog in this competition. Harry Redknapp's squad is unpredictable to be the champion of Group A and had beat a better seeded team Inter Milan.

Allegri may be quite relieved with this drawing results. But he must be aware because Milan did not have a good record when play against the England teams.
Within last two of three seasons, Milan always defeated when play against teams from the UK in the last knock-out rounds.

Kevin-Prince Boateng,"I Want To Stay At Milan As Long As Possible"

Ghanaian midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng emphasized his love and said he wants to stay for long time with his club, AC Milan.

 

The Ghanaian World Cup star is currently on loan from Genoa and it seems he would cherish a permanent move with the giants.

"Getting into Milan was fantastic," Boateng was cited as saying on Ghanasoccernet.com .  

"I never thought one day I could here. I came from Genoa, but honestly it doesn't matter how I've got here, just now that I am here.I am very impressed with everything in Milanello, San Siro, as well as, the champion who was here, I am proud to be a club with the Ronaldinho, Clarence Seedorf, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Pirlo, Nesta and all that previously could only be seen from TV,"

Boateng is happy with the Milan atmosphere and wants to be at the San Siro for a long time.

"I am part of this team and, especially, I want to stay here.I know what I can give, I know my ability and I'll prove to everyone that I have what it takes for deserve wearing this shirt. My dream is to stay at Milan as long as possible because I like everything: the city, staff, and surroundings. Milan is the team of my life."

Arrigo Sacchi: Milan Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic Is Similar To Marco Van Basten

Arrigo Sacchi has compared Milan man Zlatan Ibrahimovic and former striker Marco Van Basten, but he couldn't pick who is better.

Writing in his La Gazzetta dello Sport column, Sacchi said:

"I don't believe it's right to judge whether Ibrahimovic or Marco is better. 

"I would be less objective having coached Marco and benefited from his extraordinary ability.

"However, I must recognise that the actual 'Ibra' is not worth any less. Marco was perhaps more elegant and until this year more capable [than Ibra] of linking with the team."

Sacchi believes this will be Ibrahimovic's season to reconfigure his football legacy with success.

"Ibra hadn't always showed continuity and the ability to move himself with and for the team across the entire pitch until this season," he continued.


"The Swede has returned [to Italy] after being a partial failure at Barcelona with the desire to redeem himself which has increased his openness [to work for the team] and today he has completely exploded.

"He collaborates in defence, and in attack he doesn't just exploit his technical and physical potential, but moves in the time that the team wishes.

"If he keeps going this way, Ibra will equal Van Basten in international victories and individual achievements.

"Marco won three Ballon d'Or awards. Ibra has matured and has transformed from a soloist into a complete footballer."
